There are plenty of really great interior decorators out there, so maybe you're wondering WHY and WHEN you should hire a designer! Here's a story of a current job.
I was approached by a client who is in the earliest stages of building a new home. She had a GENERAL idea of the layout and size of her ideal home and an awesome PINTEREST page, but that was it. Here's where a designer is needed. . . I have years and years of CAD experience that is currently allowing me to have a really great time drawing out the floor plans (and electrical plans) for this client based on HER desires and NOT a plan from the internet. She handed me the dimensions of the furniture that must accompany her to her new home, shared her private Pinterest page with me, and I'm literally creating a one of a kind plan, room by room, that will bring her ideas to life. While architects have mad CAD skills, most don't have the time or energy to look at the minute details (like adding the SAFE room but making sure the steel door is very pleasing to the eyes. . .) or to add the furniture layout. Decorators have great taste and style, but aren't trained to draw architectural plans and understand the interworking of 2D and 3D CAD, adding pictorial elements to drawings and creating finish schedules based on specifications. If you are in the midst of creating your dream house via Pinterest but don't know where to go from there. . .Or if you have a plan that you aren't really happy with (don't settle!!), please call and let me put my years of Interior Design, Drafting and Project Management skills to work for you. Krista and Jason's story is a little different! They are wishing for a vow renewal! Here is their story:
2015 will mark 20 years that Krista and Jason have been married. They were childhood sweethearts and are still going strong. Their families grew up together, and they got married and had their first child at age 15! It was a church wedding just between the 2 of them. Now, two kids and 20 years later, their love hasn't faded!! Two years ago, Jason had back surgeries leaving him disabled, and even though Krista is working for the only income the family has and attending college, she still would love to have the wedding she always dreamed of!!! If you would like to vote for Krista and Jason, comment on this post! Don't forget our other voting methods! The following story is taken straight from the nomination for Tiffany and Drew:
Tiffany was born on Valentines Day in 1989 her life began exactly as it has remained since then, totally absent from her father. However, as fate would bless her with, Tiffany was born to an outstanding mom, as well as an awesome extended family. Throughout Tiffany’s early years, her mom Robin, planted in her a deep level of competitiveness not because she was competitive herself, but because Robin recognized in Tiffany a fiery spirit she developed as a child. Tiffany took the opportunity and ran with it from early dance, to gymnastics, softball, she was involved. Then came varsity ball Cheerleading both at school and on a traveling competition cheer squad. What a fun childhood she had. She successfully pulled all this off without ever missing the honor roll and holding a part-time job. She carries her competitiveness to the books as well. All this was made possible through a combined effort of her mother Robin often working two jobs Nana (Robin’s mom Joy) running the shuttle service. Tiffany was the poster child for the famous saying "It takes a village to raise a child"! She was a busy child. After graduating with honors from high school, college was a given,. Tiffany excelled on this platform no differently then the years previous. She approached college like it was a job while still being involved in "life" away from college. Diversity at its finest, she excelled academically and graduated from dental hygiene school with honors as well. She combined grades, charm and whit and landed a job soon after graduation. Through all of these milestones in her life, still no dad. However there was a special man in her life named Drew. At this point they had dated 4 years. After asking Robin and her parents if he could marry Tiffany - yes this really happened - the surprise was planned. The whole engagement planning and question asking was well planned out and executed great. The surprise was on her and everybody was there to witness the big question. It was just the perfect story book party. But with every good story, you need a good ending and here is where Tiffany gets very worthy and deserving. Aside from all the competitive sports, cheer and honor graduate you can add characteristics like compassionate, caring and giving of herself and her time. Tiffany is always quick to volunteer and donate her time and talent at free screening and dental clinics to the under privileged. Also she and Robin often help out with local and regional cheer competitions through organization and judging . Tiffany has always been devoted to strive to do her best. She carried this over into her career and it often shows up in many areas of her life. Tiffany winning a wedding would not only be a perfect ending to an awesome childhood and young adulthood, but would be a beautiful beginning to her new life with Drew, If any young couple deserves this opportunity it would be Tiffany & Drew. If you would like to vote for Tiffany and Drew, please comment on this post! Don't forget our other methods of voting! Chasity and Jay first met while serving in Egypt in 2009. Chasity has served in the US Army for 14 years and Jay has served in the US Navy for 3 years.
After returning home, the couple began to plan their wedding and then Jay was hit with the news that would "rock their souls and test their faith in God!" Jay's leukemia diagnosis put their lives on hold and he was immediately hospitalized. More bad news was added to the couple's plate as they learned that, due to his treatments, they would never be able to have children. Shortly after, "the roller coaster began: Chemo, dialysis, transplants (June 2014), losing his hair, weight loss, liquid meals through a bag. . .the works!". It seemed that everything that could have happened, did! Jay is still in the hospital and has good days and bad days. Through it all, Chasity has been by his side. She has held fundraisers to help pay for treatments, has been working 3 jobs to keep finances together and spends every night at the hospital. Their love is evident in all they do, and the friend who nominated them continues to say "they are true companions and deserve to be happy. . .very happy. . .words don't do them justice." The couple hopes to wed in the winter of 2015. If you would like to vote for Chasity and Jay, please comment on this blog post! Remember our other voting methods, too!
